Religion:Sadlier A Faith Development Program For Three-Year-Olds Discovering God’s Child: The Discovering God’s program seeks to introduce the preschool child to the Catholic communitiy's life of faith presenting human life as a gift of God. The program engages the child senses in incremental experiences of God, the gift of his son, Jesus, the gift of family, catholic community, scripture, sacraments, and prayer.
Math: Children begin to understand: colors, shapes, numbers, comparing, classifying, one to one correspondence, estimating, opposites, pattern, positions, and vocabulary.
Language and literacy: Children understand and use language with increasing facility, particularly listening, following directions, increase vocabulary, and letter recognition.
Science: Children’s appreciation of their physical world proceeds from immediate experience to the wider world they experience through all their senses and environment awareness.
Social Studies: Children’s understanding of their social world begins with their families and moves out to making new friends at school, the community and environment awareness.
Physical: Children progress in their gross and fine motor skills, their strength, balance & coordination.
Cognitive: Children use their senses to learn from their environment: To develop symbolic, representational, thinking and problem solving skills.
Creative: Children explore in learning centers and in art activates.
Emotional/Personal: Children learn to trust others, demonstrate increasing responsibility, gain independence and confidence.
Interpersonal: Children move from parallel play to social play with small groups of children. They learn negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
PE/Music: Children will go to PE and music class.
* The classroom is divided into learning center and is directed by the teacher these centers include: blocks, dramatic play, art, writing, library, science, discovery, table games, music, math and religion.
